Ever since I can remember, I have always been drawn to rocks, minerals, and crystals! I used to gather them when I traveled with my parents, and grew my own rock collection of specimens from Natural Wonders. (Remember that 80's store in the mall? I LOVED it!) Sometimes people ask me "How do you choose them?" The way I look at it, is that there is a mutual feeling of "picking each other" between you and a particular crystal. My apartment is basically an unofficial "Natural Wonders" with crystals all over the place! So naturally, I incorporate them into my work. There are stones and crystals that I haven't used at all, until years later where it makes sense to me to create with them. Sometimes it takes a while for an idea to come to fruition in my mind when using a particular stone. For women's pieces, the ones I work with the most are: amazonite, aquamarine, amethyst, citrine, green amethyst, black onyx, kyanite, labradorite, lapis lazuli, quartz, and rose quartz. For men's pieces, I like to use: carnelian, black onyx, fossilized coral, hematite, iolite, ocean jasper, turquoise, and pyrite. Below are a few select pieces using these special earthly elements, waiting to come home to you!
